Although any licensed alarm technician may attach your alarm system to our monitoring service, you may want to check with your current provider for assistance first. Your current alarm service company employs licensed technicians capable of re-programming your system to report to the SWRCC alarm monitoring service and you may find this the easiest way to accomplish the task. (Expect a fee for this conversion.)
You or your alarm technician may download the Customer Account Information form posted on our website to facilitate this conversion (here).
The Customer Account Information report not only allows the SWRCC to know your monitoring preferences, but also it provides the alarm technician the appropriate programming information to enable us to setup your monitoring account. When the technician completes the form and contacts the SWRCC, we will take that last step to activate your account.
The SWRCC is proud to announce we have identified five
local alarm service providers that would be happy to
help you transition your system to the SWRCC alarm monitoring
system. These are independent businesses, and they are
not employed by the cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, or
Duncanville. Certainly, any licensed alarm service provider
can easily help if you prefer.

How much is the cost? After obtaining an alarm permit, contact a licensed service provider to re-program your alarm panel. Your service provider will contact the SWRCC with the appropriate information necessary to activate your account. The service fee is $25.00 per month, and you will be billed.
Why should my security system be monitored by SWRCC?Because one timely step has been removed from traditional monitoring service, assistance to your emergency will be faster. We have a professional and trained staff that knows how to respond when an alarm gets triggered.
Am I required to get a permit to operate an alarm system?A permit is required, by city ordinance no mater who is the monitoring agency. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to stay current on the annual permit renewal requirements.

Why is it important that I test my system?Testing your alarm system ensures proper operation and communication with our Dispatch Center. In order to test the entire system, each component or zone must be tested individually. Please call SWRCC, at 972-223-6111 prior to testing, to avoid false alarms and fines.
Why do you always ask for a pass code when my alarm goes off? This is a verification process, not only to ensure your safety but also to determine that if the person answering is authorized to be at the location. If an incorrect pass code is given, we will continue with our dispatch process.
Will my alarm system still work if I lose power?Yes, the back-up battery in the alarm control panel panel and keypad will keep your system running for several hours. It is important that your back-up battery is properly charged at all times. Your alarm service company can assist you with this.
